Brave Waters

The Brave Waters Association is a Nevada nonprofit that provides wounded veterans with outdoor adventures in support of their healing.

We organize retreats in partnership with the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) and the Reno Vet Center, Our volunteers include members of Task Force Garrison and local fly fishing clubs, as well as NDOW volunteer outdoor instructors. The retreats are funded by private donations.

Our main event is usually held at Hobart Reservoir in the Spooner Backcountry in cooperation with Nevada State Parks and the Marlette Lake Water System.  Due to Hobart Reservoir being closed for dam repairs, the 2026 retreat will take place on a private reservoir.

We have partnered with Task Force Garrison to provide additional outdoor adventures to the veterans community of Northern Nevada.
